Thanks to lobbying activities of ICT project partner Hungarian Cycling Associaton, during the next months, the remaining sections in Hungary will be signposted with the financial assistance of the Hungarian Ministry of National Development, while the train company GYSEV-Raaberbahn AG provides support for the signposting of cycling tracks leading from train stations along the border to the Iron Curtain Trail.
ICT project partner Regionalmanagement Burgenland already has budget within the Iron Curtain Trail SEE project for signposting as a pilot activity that will be also implemented this year.
The opening ceremony of the Hungarian-Austrian border section of the Iron Curtain Trail is planned to be held on 19th August, the 25th anniversary of the Paneuropean Picnic, the symbolic date for the fall of the Iron Curtain, which will be followed by a 2-day cycling trip through the newly signposted sections.
